The Yada Dance Company will hold a show that will please all five senses, and the sixth one, called Circle of Senses, Yada Director Felix Busuttil said yesterday. The Circle of Senses is a sensual journey, transporting the audience into a “continuous spectacle of light, colour, movement, costumes and visual effects”, said Mr Busuttil.

He also hinted that the show will not only be a visual experience but that there is an element of surprise.

“The show is a universal trip around the scents and colours of India, Arabia and the Western way of life,” he added.

Mr Busuttil promised that it will be a three-dimensional show that “will touch the public in ways they have not been touched before”.

A total of 33 dancers will take place in the show which will be held over two weekends in February at the Mediterranean Conference Centre. The production is held under the auspices of the Tourism and Culture Ministry and in collaboration with the Malta Tourism Authority.

The choreographers are Felix Busuttil, Daron Galea, Justin Roy Barker, Vivienne Fielding Refalo and Theresa Kerr.

Culture acts as an umbrella for numerous activities, including theatrical productions, Tourism and Culture Minister said during the launch.

Dr Zammit Dimech pointed out that the Yada Dance Company produces something different each year.

“This year’s show is built around the instinctive world of human senses and is a voyage in the world of colour, sensuality, love, fear and the sixth sense,” the minister said.

He noted that Yada’s productions form part of Malta’s rich cultural calendar.

“Similar productions simply add to Malta’s attraction as a cultural destination,” he said.

Booking for the shows will open on 5 February and the shows will be held between 16 and 18, and between 23 and 25 February.
