Court: Man And two sons in court for injuring and resisting the police

A man and his two sons were yesterday charged in court following an incident that broke out in Zebbug yesterday morning.

Carmel Dimech, 48, and his two sons Ludwig, 23, and Melchior, 24, pleaded not guilty to obstructing Malta Environment and Planning Authority officials and police officers from carrying out their duties. They were also charged with slightly injuring three policemen including Assistant Commissioner Josie Brincat and Inspector Alexander Miruzzi yesterday morning.

The Dimechs were also charged with threatening the police officers and the Mepa officials.

Police Inspector Miruzzi prosecuted while Dr George Cutajar appeared for the defendants.
