A Wonderful experience

Malta Independent Thursday, 25 January 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

I accompanied my daughter to Ta’ Qali last Sunday for the new Archbishop’s meeting with young children.

And I must say that it was a wonderful experience, something that I will never forget, and I hope that my daughter won’t either.

Mgr Paul Cremona was completely at ease with the some 4,000 children that packed the closed tent at Ta’ Qali. He was continuously smiling, and seemed genuinely interested in what they had to say and what they did. When he played football with the Valletta nursery boys he showed one and all that he wants to be part of their life.

The children were overawed with the experience, and I am sure that many of them already feel a bond with the new Archbishop.

What I would like to suggest is that such an activity is held at least once a year. This will enable the children to keep in touch with their Archbishop and for him to be able to meet them directly.

Well done to all.
