New archbishop Paul Cremona lost no time announcing his first appointments.

He has confirmed Bishop Annetto Depasquale as Vicar General and has appointed Fr Anton Gouder as Pro-Vicar to help Mgr Depasquale.

Fr Jimmy Bonnici, 34, was appointed rector of the seminary instead of Fr Gouder.

Archbishop Cremona has also confirmed all the Ecclesiastical Tribunal judges for the next five years while all Curia officials have been told they are confirmed in their posts unless he decides otherwise.

Archbishop Cremona will visit St Luke’s Hospital tomorrow morning and will meet the elderly at St Theresa Sanctuary, Birkirkara on Wednesday morning. He will meet Maltese families next Sunday afternoon in the big tent at Ta’ Qali.
