The regeneration of the south of Malta will continue with the SmartCity project, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi said.

Speaking at a reception at the PN club in Zabbar, Dr Gonzi said 6,100 jobs were created in a year and unemployment has continued to come down, More benefits will come with the signing of the $300 million SmartCity project that will create 5,600 new jobs.

Over the past year, investment has been flowing into Malta to the tune of Lm500 million a year, or Lm1.3 million every day and the country will soon benefit from 855 million euros to continue to improve the country.
