Archbishop Paul Cremona yesterday visited various wards at St Luke’s Hospital much to the delight of the medical staff and patients who flocked in crowds just to get a glimpse of the man who was entrusted with the leadership of the Church in Malta.

Mgr Cremona began his tour by stopping at the hospital chapel where he knelt down in prayer for a few minutes.

Health Minister Louis Deguara, Parliamentary Secretary Helen D’Amato and Director General of Health Ray Busuttil were also present.

Mgr Cremona visited the patients in Orthopaedic Ward One, the Intensive Care Unit and the young children in Disneyland, greeting them individually while speaking words of comfort.

“There are many people suffering due to pain and illness,” said Mgr Cremona. “Visiting these patients and helping people become aware that there is suffering is also part of my job.”
