The Gozitan Friends of Australia Association is being re-established. The first event, on Saturday, will be a dinner to mark Australia Day.

The Gozitan Friends of Australia Association (GFOAA) is a non-government, non-profit and non-political organisation.

Over the decades, thousands of Maltese and Gozitan return migrant families continued to commemorate the Australia Day at their homes with family and friends.

The re-launch and dinner will take place at the Xerri il-Bukkett Complex, Zewwieqa Street, Qala in Gozo at 6pm.

The re-launch will be presided over by Mr Jurek Juszczyk, Australian High Commissioner for Malta, and Mrs Juszczyk.

The GFOAA is affiliated with the Friends of Australia Association in Malta.

The founder of the association is Dr Raymond C. Xerri, the Gozitan-American diplomat who founded many similar organisations locally and internationally.
