A Libyan man was remanded in custody yesterday after pleading not guilty to stealing five tools belonging to his employer and told a court that he had not been paid for his services.

Adel Ahmed Albarghi, 35, who lives in Gzira, was charged with stealing the tools from Gzira on Sunday. The court heard that four of the five tools have already been returned and that the accused told police that his employer was refusing to pay him for his work.

Before magistrate Michael Mallia, the Libyan man pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him and he was remanded in custody.

Police Inspector Malcolm Spiteri prosecuted while Dr Renzo Porsella Flores appeared for the accused.
