I have no more doubt about it. The goodwill scheme launched recently by the Water Services Corporation is having a bad effect on the human resources and consequently on the efficiency of the said corporation. For the information of your readers, under this scheme all Maltese citizens can have their sewerage systems and water catchment areas maintained gratis by the WSC.

Some time ago we were officially informed that estimated water and electricity bills would be sent regularly to every household every two months. I have just received mine covering a six-month period May-November.

I reported three water leakages in Mosta. One in Gafa Street, which was fixed 20 hours later; another one in Ruzar Mizzi Street, which was still leaking 40 hours later, and the last one in Carmel Dimech Street was reported on a Thursday at 10am. I gave all my details and the exact location of the leak. I am sending this letter exactly three days later; Sunday 10am. The leak was still there a few minutes ago.

I do hope that no one thinks that these comments are hitting below the belt.
