The Malta Shooting Sport Federation has celebrated a double win - The Sportsman and The Sportswoman of the Year awards.

The celebration was held in Bidnija and was attended by, among others, Minister of Education Dr Louis Galea and Opposition spokesman on Sport, Carmelo Abela.

Double Trap shooter William Chetcuti was named as the Sportsman of the Year for the fifth consecutive time and Trap shooter Rebecca Madyson was named as the Sportswoman of the year

.The M.S.S.F.is looking ahead for better results in the near future with both shooters taking part in 2007 ISSF World Cups.

This was announced by the MSSF president Savior Portelli.The M.S.S.F.intends to celebrate its century in 2008 by holding an international shooting event in Malta. The ISSF presedent, Horste Schrieber, will be invited to Malta for this occasion.Minister Galea,praised the MSSF for its achievements and presented a commemorative plaque for this occasion.

It was also revealed that this year's Malta International Grand Prix will be held on the 11,12 and 13 May.A number of Italian shooters have confirmed their participation.
