Mrs Anna Rossi (photo) was elected as President at the Annual General Meeting of the Malta Sailing Federation.

Mrs. Rossi’s connection with the sport of sailing started several years ago. She is one of the persons who founded and nurtured the Malta Young Sailor’s Club. Mrs. Rossi joined the Malta Sailing Federation as Hon. Secretary in 2003. She is also the current Hon. Secretary of the Malta Young Sailor’s Club and of the Malta Optimist Dinghy Association.

Mrs. Rossi’s predecessor, Mr. Anton Valentino, had been at the helm as President since 1998. Mr. Valentino’s immense contribution and commitment to the sport helped, besides other matters, to bestow Malta with no less than 44% of the available medals in the Games of the Small States that were held in Malta in 2003.

The Malta Sailing Federation is affiliated to the International Sailing Federation. Nine local clubs and associations form part of the Malta Sailing Federation. The short term goal for the Malta Sailing Federation and the Maltese sailors is a good result in the forthcoming Games of the Small States 2008 that will be held in Monaco.
