Bank of Valletta is giving a unique opportunity to those who would like to earn an attractive guaranteed rate of interest on their savings. As from tomorrow, customers can call at any BOV branch to open a term deposit account denominated in Maltese lira giving a gross return of 4.2 per cent per annum payable every six months. This new deposit account has a term of 18 months.

As with all other bank deposits, it will be automatically converted into euro on 1 January 2008 at the Lm/euro irrevocable fixed convergence rate subject to Malta adopting the euro on this date.

The new 4.2 per cent term deposit account from Bank of Valletta can be opened with a minimum deposit of Lm2,000 and multiples of Lm100 thereafter. There are no fees charged for opening a term deposit account. This is a limited offer that is available until 10 March that may be closed earlier at the bank’s discretion.
