Fuel Prices unchanged in February

Malta Independent Tuesday, 6 February 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 21 years ago

Fuel prices for February will remain the same as January’s, the Department of Information said in a statement released yesterday.

This confirmed what had been stated last November when Enemalta Corporation had announced that the price of fuel would have remained stable till the end of this month.

The fuel revision policy revises prices according to what Enemalta pays to import various oils into the country.

Unleaded petrol will stay at the price of 42c6 per litre while lead replacement petrol will remain at 45c6. Diesel is also unchanged at 38c9 while kerosene remains at 38c. Light heating oil remains at 24c.

There was however a slight decrease in the price for other products imported by Enemalta, the DOI said.

Thin fuel oil 200 degrees (per tonne) is slightly cheaper than January’s Lm136.50, at Lm133.

Thin fuel oil 450 degrees (per tonne) is also slightly cheaper in February at Lm126 compared to Lm130 in January. Thin fuel oil 900 degrees is on sale at Lm115.50 compared to Lm120 in January.

The changes were put into effect yesterday.
