What happened over the past week or so is a clear indication that the Maltese people still love the Church.

The enthusiasm that was expressed by the thousands of Maltese who turned up at each and every event new Archbishop Mgr Paul Cremona attended, both before and after his ordination, is indicative of their support to the Church.

They might be seeing it as a new beginning for the Church, and Mgr Cremona with his words of wisdom has already made his way into our hearts. He is a man who is not afraid of speaking in public and, in particular, speaking to the media.

Although most journalists have come up with soft questions, others have fielded loaded ones and yet Mgr Cremona always accepted to speak to them without any problem.

I do hope that Mgr Cremona will keep in touch with the Maltese people in the same way he has done so far.
