Michael Mifsud and Justin Haber spoke of their foreign experiences yesterday.
Mifsud said he had integrated well since joining England’s Coventry City in the last few weeks.
“The change of coach did not affect me or the team a lot. It is true I had been signed by Adams, but Heath has continued to show confidence in me and I am grateful. It is a big difference playing in the English Championship than in Norway. In England, the game is based on a different approach – more physical and faster. I am hopeful that I will get even more accustomed to the English conditions. I feel I am doing well even if I am not playing in my normal central position. I am sure that there is space for more Maltese players in the English game. Once I have been able to do it, they can also be successful. All they need is to be committed to discipline and sacrifice,” he said.
Haber said he is not happy to be back in Malta, but he would be doing his best to confirm that he is Malta’s No 1. “Everyone now knows that I am here because of the dispute I had with the coach after I gave preference to the national team instead of the club. Now I’ve got these five months to prove myself once again and hopefully I will be abroad once again next season,” he said.
