The result speaks for itself. There was only one team in the game. Naxxar had an easy game against Tarxien who only managed one shot at goal and this was from a free-kick. Naxxar are on maximum points from 10 games as their keeper Andrea Bugeja was never troubled and only dealt with back passes from his colleagues.

Naxxar opened the score after only 50 seconds when Kurt Drago crossed from the right to Darren Falzon who netted with a rising shot from inside the area past a helpless Joseph Tirchett.

Bugeja then saved a freekick shot by Warren Zerafa, and at the other end, Falzon served Ryan Sammut in the area but Tirchett dived at his feet as he came out of his charge to foil him, was injured in the action but resumed play after attention.

The Lions resumed their pressure up to the half time whistle penning their opponents in their own half.

It was the same story after resumption with Naxxar dominating the proceedings and also adding five more goals to their tally.

On 35 minutes Naxxar doubled as Darren Farrugia served Falzon in the area from a throw-in who placed the ball in the net with the Tarxien defenders doing the standstill act.

John Debono crossed from the right to Sammut and Tirchett saved his over-head kick. Sammut served Matthew Calleja with a square pass and his close range shot missed the bar by inches.

Tirchett then neutralized a cross from the right by Farrugia after he was put through by substitute Khail Agius.

The score became 3-0 on 47 minutes when Farrugia crossed from the left to Sammut who scored from inside the area, and about two minutes later Farrugia scored number four with a cross shot from the left which totally deceived Tirchett.

A fifth goal was scored on 52 minutes after a choral move which involved three players. Falzon served Farrugia with a through ball on the left, he crossed to Sammut who netted with a header.

And five minutes from the end substitute Noel Bezzina served Falzon with a through ball on the edge of the area and he netted with a hard grounder to round up a 6-0 route.

Qormi did all the attacking throughout the whole game and the Ghaxaq forwards did not penetrate Qormi's area. The woodwork denied Qormi on two occasions.

They are on maximum points from 10 games while Ghaxaq are on eight points from the same number of games.

The Qormi youngsters went straight on the offensive from the very first whistle.

Alessio Cassar crossed from the right to Jurgen Stanyer, the latter's shot was deflected by a defender and the ball was neutralized by Ghaxaq keeper Jensen Chetcuti.

In the only occasion created by Ghaxaq, Warren Carabott served Mark Gravina in the area but Qormi keeper Kurt Fenech foiled him with a timely sortie.

Qormi resumed their attacking play. Steve Agius served George Chircop in the area but his shot missed the upright. Steve Bazine crossed from the left to Jurgen Stanyer but the ball thumped the bar from his shot with Chetcuti beaten and later had to dive to neutralize a cross from the right by Chircop and foiled Cassar from concluding.

Qormi also dominated the second half in which they scored five goals without any reply.

The woodwork denied Qormi for a second time as the ball thumped the bar from a shot by Stanyer after a Chircop through ball.

On 43 minutes, Qormi commenced their hammering. Stanyer served Sean Parnis with a through pass on the left flank who crossed to substitute Gilmour Cuschieri and scored with a low shot from inside the area.

Hardly a minute later Agius should have doubled but he failed to apply the killer touch from two metres after a Cuschieri perfect cross from the left.

On 48 minutes Qormi doubled through Stanyer who made no mistake from close range after being put through by Bazine.It became 3-0 on 52 minutes as Bazine put Stanyer through, the latter crossed to Cuschieri who scored from inside the area.

A fourth goal was scored on 55 minutes and it was again Cuschieri who scored with a hard grounder from the edge of the area after being put through by Bazine and three minutes before the end the same player scored after an identical move of the fourth goal.
