A maisonette and its underlying garage that were being used illegally as offices and a workshop/commercial store in Triq il-Ghajn, Swieqi have been changed back to a residential dwelling.

Officers of the Malta Environment and Planning Authority, through an enforcement notice, had notified the owner to stop using the premises illegally. According to law, an enforcement notice obliges the contravener to return the site to its former state, in this case a residential dwelling.

After receiving further reports that the premises were still being used illegally, the Authority gave the owner a final warning prior to sealing off the premises.

Within two days, the person responsible undertook to turn the premises back to a residential dwelling by ceasing all activities and removing all furniture and other non-domestic material.
