The MCAST – Razzett Hair and Beauty Marathon, which started on Saturday, continued yesterday at the Razzett tal-Hbiberija in Marsascala to raise funds for the Razzett.
The main hall at Razzett tal-Hbiberija was transformed into a big salon where MCAST students worked together with professional hairdressers and beauty therapists to provide hair and beauty services at a discounted rate for this charitable event.
Other activities and events were organised. Students following the MCAST-BTEC First Diploma in Sport and Exercise Sciences and the MCAST-BTEC National Diploma in Sport organised various pool games, while students from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering set up the Digital Countdown Clock that they designed and produced. A carwash and football tournament were also held. Art and Design students helped the camera crew.
Maritime students together with St John Rescue team performed rescue drills while the Comunio group within the Institute of Business and Commerce provided entertainment. Students from the Institute of Agribusinesss sold herbs and plants, while students following Care and Health Studies sold delicacies they prepared themselves. Those following the MCAST-BTEC National Diploma in Early Years provided a child-minding service at specific times. Car tests were carried out by the Institute of Mechanical Engineering.
Screened live on TV, a number of local artistes took part, including Claudette Pace, Etienne St.John, Marthese Brincat, John Bundy, Ray Azzopardi, Peppi Azzopardi and Moira Delia.
