I refer to the letter Rehabilitation of Dwejra (TMID, 14 February).

I would like to point out that the Dwejra rehabilitation project, involving the investment of more than E300,000, is made up of much more than just “a wonderful plan for new toilets”.

Since 2004, the first two phases were completed. These involved data compilation and consultation with all relative stakeholders and the drafting of a master plan, including the identification of measures to be undertaken, which had also been made available to the public for consultation.

We are presently in Phase 3 where measures highlighted in this master plan are being implemented. Following this stage, the final phase will be implemented. This includes the organisation of adequate signage and of the visitors’ flow, the provision of educational material and the adequate manning of the site, among other initiatives.
