The Astronomical Society of Malta is giving a public presentation tomorrow at 6.30pm about the total lunar eclipse due on Saturday 3 March.

The eclipse will be entirely visible from the Maltese islands starting at 10.30pm. The next lunar eclipse to be seen completely from Malta will be in the year 2029.

On eclipse night, the Astronomical Society will also hold a public observing session at The Greek Theatre, Gnien L-Gharusa Tal-Mosta, Targa Gap.

The venue for tomorrow’s presentation will be “Mount Carmel”, Psaila Street, Sta Venera (opposite the computer products outlet). Professor Frank Ventura and Vince Zammit will explain what causes a lunar eclipse and what to observe during such an event.
