Tourism Minister Francis Zammit Dimech and officials of the Malta Tourism Authority briefed the mayor and councillors of St Paul’s Bay about the various projects and initiatives undertaken by the ministry and the MTA at the Bugibba and Qawra area.

At a meeting at the ministry, Dr Zammit Dimech updated the council about four projects which had been applied for under EU structural funds for product improvement. Two comprise the embellishment and improved accessibility at Qawra point, and the embellishment and promenade link from the area at Il-Menqa to Ta’ l-Ghazzenin, earmarked for completion by the end of the year.

The two other projects consist of recreational facilities and landscaping at Triq it-Truncieri up to Qawra Tower, and a beach creation at the east side of Qawra point.

The MTA reiterated its support for the council and advised the council of its plans to appoint a beach manager for the perched beach in Bugibba.
