The Malta Institute of Taxation “has learnt with shock” about the explosion of a bomb that had been placed on the night of 20 February outside the private residence of Ian Azzopardi, who is employed with the Tax Compliance Unit of the Finance Ministry.
The institute wishes to express its strong condemnation of this despicable act of intimidation. At the same time, the institute extends its moral support to Mr Azzopardi and his family, as well as to all the officers and employees of the Tax Compliance Unit.
The Malta Labour Party, through its deputy leader for parliamentary affairs Charles Mangion, has also issued a statement condemning the attack.
The Malta Institute of Accountants also condemned the attack on Mr Azzopardi.
