Outlining Our Worlds is an exhibition which has been set up by Charlene Vella (pictured) together with six of her painter friends, Andreana Boldarini, Clint Calleja, Joanna Boldarini, Kenneth Cassar, Noel Attard and Romina Delia – who are all Art History graduates, with the exception of Joanna. The forty exhibited paintings are not necessarily meant to represent the material world as we are accustomed to seeing it, but are a reinterpretation of it, one that allows the viewer to re-consider his environment.

Charlene Vella

Having completed a BA (Hons) degree in History of Art, Charlene Vella is now an MA candidate in the History of Art department at the University of Malta. Her area of specialisation is the artistic influences that flowed into the Malteseislands through various channels during Malta’s Late Medieval and Early Renaissance periods. She is currently conducting research beyond our shores on scholarship in order to investigate how these influences helped shape Malta’s artistic identity by becoming acquainted with foreign works of art and architecture which will be analysed in relation to those present locally.
