A talk by lecturer Gorg Mifsud-Chircop on Manwel Magri will be held on Tuesday 27 February at 6.30pm at Heritage Malta, Merchants Street, Valletta. This talk, which is free and open to the general public, is being held on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Magri’s death and is being sponsored by the Farsons foundation.

Manwel Magri is considered the first folklore researcher in Malta, having done extensive research and interpretation of Maltese folklore.

His contribution is even more impressive becuse of his ethnographic methodology and his meticulous research which he carried out despite his other commitments as a Jesuit, a missionary, an archeologist and a librarian.

During the presentation there will also be an analysis of one of the legends collected by Magri himself.
