Malta and Switzerland played a goalless draw in a Women's Friendly International played at the Hibernians Ground, Corradino, this afternoon.

The Maltese girls, under the charge of coach Pierre Brincat and his assistant Alfred Zammit, gave quite a good account of themselves considering they were facing a team with a better international pedigree.

The Swiss displayed a superior passing rate and had more scoring opportunities, also hitting the upright late in the game.

Maltese newly-appointed FIFA referee, Esther Farrugia, contolled the match admirably, assisted by Alan Camilleri and Mariano Debono.

Malta team: Antonina Dimech, Leslie Ann Galea, Natasha Pace, Rebecca D'Agostino, Dorianne Theuma, Ylenia Carabott (Rachael Cuschieri), Maris Deguara, Roxanne Gatt (Kathleen Saliba), Maria Azzopardi (Stefania Farrugia), Kelly Agius Pace (Jane Coates), Catherine Camilleri
