The Malta Basketball Referees Association organised an instructional meeting for all Basketball Referees, Commissioners and Table Officials.
The meeting was addressed by MBRA Chairman Jean Paul Sammut together with National Fiba Instructor Leonard Falzon. Various topics were discussed including disciplinary action, consistency on court, and general duties.
Sammut commented that such meetings are of utmost importance for officials in order to discuss day to day problems being encountered on court and also for more unity and team-work.
From this season the MBRA and MBA introduced 3 persons officiating for the 1st Division Men League, Falzon commented that in general this is being done with success. A meeting room was setup for officials to be used for pre-match and half time talks.
For the past years the MBRA under the chairmanship of Paul Sammut has been working hard to improve the conditions for all MBRA officials and this is a promise that will be upheld.
A course for new officials is going to be held on Saturday 3rd March at 2.00pm at Ta’ Qali. Interested individuals can download application form from the MBRA web-site www.m-b-r-a.com or contact Paul Sammut on 99080205
A similar meeting will be held in April.
