Terence Scerri’s Ban extended by a further two weeks

Malta Independent Saturday, 3 March 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Hibernians have suffered another setback as striker Terence Scerri's ban has been extended by two weeks.

Originally, Scerri had been suspended till 13 October 2007. Now, after his case has been heard all over again, a new Disciplinary Commissioner decided that the ban should be extended till 31 October 2007.

It was on 10 February that Scerri was sent off during the Premier League match against St George's. After receiving the red card from referee Joe Attard, he pushed the official and later attempted to re-enter the pitch after St George's had been awarded a penalty.

Hibernians had appealed against the previous decision which was declared null. However, when the case was heard by a different Disciplinary Commissioner, it was decided that the ban was to be extended.
