The Prime Minister stands up and tells everyone that nothing will change when we enter the eurozone and no one should alter their prices now when double pricing with the euro.

Now I don’t know where the Prime Minister does his shopping, but nearly everywhere I go and see where double pricing has taken place the Maltese price has been hiked up by, guess what, 20 per cent, coincidently the same amount that the Maltese currency will be de-valued when we enter the eurozone.

What is the Government going to do to stop this racket? Even my local car wash has, since putting up a double pricing sign, increased in price from Lm2.00 to Lm2.40.

Work it out again – exactly 20 per cent again. Is this not just too much of a coincidence? Before the car wash put up a sign showing the double price, there was no sign at all, so now we have to pay an extra 40 cents to read the sign.

When is this Government going to actually stand up and look inward to its own country and help its own people, instead of always looking away to the EU?
