Crackers: Hello

Malta Independent Thursday, 8 March 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 19 years ago

We had various requests from our readers to bring you some information about Space and our planet Earth. From our article, Earth and Space, we try and answer some frequently asked questions like Why does the moon shine?, Why does the Moon follow us when we drive? or Do stars die? Did you know that the stars are not the same size even though when we look at them they all appear to be the same, in fact some of them are as big as the Sun. We also bring you some information on asteroids. Most of you must of heard of this word in the past weeks. Read more about asteroids in our article.

Have you ever heard of the ship Logos II? This floating bookshop is currently berthed in our Grand Harbour and is worth giving it a visit. An international crew and staff of volunteers live and work on the ship. Throughout its stay, a number of fun events specifically designed for families will take place on board. The programme attached will help your parents decide when to go and visit.

Do not forget our competition related to Spring. This competition is for our very young readers and it could win you the new Dominoes Card Game courtesy of Agenda Bookshop. Entries should be sent by next Monday to be published in our Spring issue next Thursday.

See you next Thursday

Frances
