Shop owners whose business lies within 50 metres of a voting centre were no longer obliged to close down their shops during voting hours, Parliamentary Secretary Edwin Vassallo said yesterday.
Speaking to shop owners, Mr Vassallo said the government has taken into account the complaints of many shop owners who were required by law to close their shops during elections.
