On Saturday Marsa C.C played against Krishna C.C in the Winter League. The Krishna team winning the toss elected to bat first.

They lost their first wicket in the very first over of the day, the second ball to be more precise when a simple caught and bowled was easily accepted by the bowler.

In the next over a bizarre run out had the Krishna team in trouble having lost two wickets for sixteen runs. Nowell Khosla joined Sam Dhandapani at the crease. They put on a fifty run partnership which steadied the Krishna team. Khosla was the first to go being stumped for sixteen runs.

Dhandapani played another good innings making fifty nine runs which included four fours. He used his feet well to the spinners but eventually he chased a wide ball and missed and gave the wicket keeper his second stumping. Jaya Krishna also batted well making thirty three runs.

The Marsa bowlers were not at there best and gave away forty two extras which took the Krishna total too 166 runs. Krishna were also awarded a five runs due to a penalty against the opening batsmen who took too long to make it to the pitch, therefore the Krishna total went to 171 runs.

For Marsa Mark G.Sacco was the better of the bowlers taking two wickets.

The Marsa batsmen went out all guns blazing and only lost one wicket in a rampage of runs. The game went to the last over and the Krishna bowlers only gave away twenty three extras. The only wicket which was taken was that of Mike Caruana who made forty three runs from thirty balls which included six fours. Ronnie Sacco played his best innings of the series making sixty four runs of fifty nine balls and Javed Shah made forty two runs from twenty eight balls.

With this win the Marsa team took nine points and the league with still one more game left the Marsa team to play.

Next week Krishna C.C plays Overseas C.C after the Cricket nursery/academy which will be from 9:30 till 11:30am.
