Power Boats: Air Malta – P1’s Official Carrier

Air Malta is confirmed as the official airline of the 2007 Powerboat P1 Maltese Grand Prix of the Sea and, for the third consecutive year, will take responsibility for carrying teams, organising bodies, international media and spectators from across Europe to Malta for the first Grand Prix in the P1 World Championship.

Air Malta’s continued commitment to this major international motorsports event underlines the company’s commitment to drive new tourism and business to its Islands, supporting the marketing strategies of the Government and the Malta Tourism Authority.

“We are delighted to once again be associated with such a prestigious World Championship,” explains Air Malta’s Jimmy Attard, Section Head Marketing Services. “Powerboat P1 provides a shop window for Malta to demonstrate its suitability as both a top class resort and event destination to a global audience. As the official carrier to P1 we are able to play an active part in hosting this spectacular international event. This is consistent with our corporate marketing strategies and strengthens the marketing investment we have recently made in our international markets.”

Air Malta operates to 46 destinations in Europe, North Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean and its modern fleet of Airbus 320s, 319s and Boeing 737s operate over 200 weekly schedule flights from major European gateways.

Through its co-operation with Lufthansa, Air Malta also offers access to a worldwide network with seamless connections from Frankfurt and Munich.

The 2007 Powerboat P1 Maltese Grand Prix of the Sea takes place over the weekend of 5-6 May 2007.
