The Gozo Business Chamber and The Gozo Tourism Association said they were pleased to note that some of the existing members of the MCESD feel the need for a re-organisation of this forum, which is so important in getting all the social partners to agree on the best way forward for the country. However, the GBC and the GTA are convinced that the region of Gozo is not being represented in this forum – and this when everyone, including the EU, acknowledges that Gozo has special needs. After many representations by both organizations to the authorities concerned, Gozo is still without a representative on the council.

As the main business associations for Gozo, the GBC and GTA strongly urge the government to take the necessary steps so that there will be a permanent representative from Gozo on this council.
