WE is one of the five projects that are currently being undertaken by SIFE UMT (Students in Free Enterprise – University of Malta). WE – Women Entrepreneurs – targets females around the island who wish to learn more about Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship with the aim of changing or considerably improving their lives.

With the help of ETC, one of our official partners, WE has been distributing booklets which, during the past year have been educating women on key issues regarding financial literacy. The project WE has also been furthering its activities with its recently held Entrepreneurship Seminar, where the aim was to reach out for Maltese women and let them know what it takes to become a Women Entrepreneur. Various government and non-governmental organisations gave their contribution by sharing their valuable advice on the matter. Along with these, successful women who have made it in their quest to become entrepreneurs were invited to transfer their contagious spirit to the women participating in the seminar.

In this year’s agenda, WE is planning to organise a tour round local councils and their women communities where interactive and exciting workshops will be held, all dealing with the involvement of women in the Maltese society. Recognizing its value will help the participants to take the opportunity and be in touch with the work environment while being actively involved in real life situations.

WE can now reach new heights thanks to the grant support from HSBC Global Education Trust and the Corporate, Investment Banking and Markets (CIBM), who wholeheartedly believe in the WE project and its potential in making a difference to our community.
