An armed robbery was committed on Saturday night in Ghaxaq when a hooded and armed man burst into a shop and demanded the day’s takings.
In a statement, the police said they were informed of the robbery at about 7.40pm. Preliminary investigations established that a masked and armed man burst into a shop and demanded the day’s takings. After taking the cash, he left with another person who was waiting for him outside. There was one person in the shop at the time, who was not injured.
Duty magistrate Doreen Clarke appointed a number of experts to assist in an onsite inquiry. The police are investigating.
