An independent team, Reach, will be contesting the University Students’ Council (KSU) election for an executive board this month. Reach said its aims were the same as those of the teams that contested last year’s election – to end the political saga in KSU, allowing better representation and creating a sense of unity among the student body.
Reach said it had brought together 12 university students from various faculties and student organisations, to make sure that the KSU remained independent and free from partisan politics. Three members of Reach are members of the present KSU board and created the team in the hope of giving a sense of continuity to next year’s KSU.
Reach has a website, www.reachforksu.com
The election is open to students from the university, Junior College, Ta’ Bighi Restoration Centre, Medical School and the Institute of Health Care.
