The Mediterranean Confer-ence Centre was once again the counting hall for the local council elections held successfully over the last weekend.
In a statement issued by the MCC yesterday, the centre said dismantling was to be completed by last night and the venue is now preparing to host another array of activities later this week.
The MCC management said it was proud to have hosted this important event and wished to thank all the many people involved.
The public, following this highly publicised event, witnessed the smooth operation underway from early on Saturday evening until late on Sunday evening. Such success was the result of excellent preparation, coordination and cooperation by all concerned.
The MCC thanked the Electoral Commission for once again choosing its venue and thanked their staff, the Police Commissioner, all members of the police force on duty, the representatives of the political parties and their agents, the Department of Information, the press, the counting assistants and, last but not least, its own staff at the MCC.
The MCC will be hosting the swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected councillors on Thursday and said it wished to take the opportunity to congratulate them on their achievement.
