The Malta Labour Party has won yet another round of local council elections. The people have once again shown that they have more trust in Labour councillors than they have in Nationalist and Alternattiva Demokratika councillors.
The trend towards Labour has shifted dramatically at local level, and I am sure that this is the case at national level too. The MLP has shown that it is close to the people, and this is what has given it so many successes since the last election.
Labour could have possibly won in 2003 if it had not been so adamantly against European Union membership. But now that this is no longer a political issue, I am sure that Labour will go on to win the next election, whenever it is held.
