Luqa SA- Siggiewi 2-0
Luqa were worthy winners against Siggiewi who had to play for most of the match with ten players after having John Mascena sent off during the first period.
After only four minutes Siggiewi were close through Adrian Farrugia with Luqa coming back through an Emanuel Cumbo free-kick which bounced off the crossbar.
Luqa broke the deadlock on 36 minutes through a close-range shot by Norbert Zammit and to make matters worse for Siggiewi they had John Mascena sent off in the 40th minute for a second yellow card. Just before the end of the first-half Eman Ciappara wasted a clear goal scoring opportunity for Siggiewi.
Luqa outplayed Siggiewi after the change of ends and after going close through Mark Said and Emanuel Cumbo, they sealed the match with another goal scored by Norbert Zammit in the 61st minute. Luqa created various other goal scoring opportunities especially through Alessandro Pirrone and Randolph Penzo.

St Lucia-Pembroke A 1-2
This was a pleasant match with Pembroke turning defeat into victory through goals scored by Carlo Leonardi and Jeffrey Fenech. After only four minutes Pembroke were unlucky as Jeffrey Fenech headed onto the crossbar from an Aqulina corner-kick. In the 25th minute the Saints broke the deadlock as Anthony Brignone beat Debattista with a well-taken free-kick but barely two minutes later Carlo Leonardi made it one-all with an excellent shot. In the 40th minute the Saints’ keeper Brincat did well to save off a Clint Ellul close-range shot.
During the second period Pembroke pressed forward and after creating dangerous attempts through Kevin Vella, they managed to score on 62 minutes through Jeffrey Fenech from a well-taken free-kick.
The Saints reacted but it was Pembroke who could have increased the lead through Carlo Leonardi and Kevin Vella. Ten minutes from time the Saints had a Curmi goal annulled for an offside position.

Zejtun C- Kalkara 3-1
The Corinthians were the better team as they notched their fifth win of the season to move into a mid-table position.
The Corinthians opened the score in the 16th minute through Godwin Mifsud and minutes later they were again close through Elton Caruana.
Kalkara’s response produced an attempt by Stephen Calleja which hit the post but in the 37th minute Zejtun made it
2-0 with Andy Portelli crossing for Godwin Mifsud whose header hit the post and from the rebound Dino Falzon hit home.
Zejtun wasted an easy opportunity through Andy Portelli in the 65th minute and five minutes later Kalkara hit the post through Kevin Tonna.
Zejtun made it 3-0 through Godwin Mifsud in the 75th minute with Kalkara getting a consolation goal four minutes later through Stephen Calleja.
A minute from time Kalkara’s captain Nicholas Gatt was sent off for a professional foul.

Mdina K- Gzira 3-1
This was a fine performance by Mdina Knights as they came out worthy winners against Gzira United.
The match was decided through two late goals scored by James Vella. After nine minutes Clint Caruana went close for Mdina with Gzira being denied by Cortis in the 15th minute off an attempt by Josef Vidal.
Although Mdina continued to dictate the run of play it was Gzira who created the best opportunity with William Mallia shooting wide when all alone infront of an open goal.
Just before the break Mdina were close through shots by Matthew Francalanza and Clint Caruana just missing the target. In the 51st minute Mdina hit the post through Andre Vassallo but they broke the deadlock on the hour through Ayrton Buhagiar. Gzira’s reaction led to their equaliser in the 73rd minute as William Mallia’s effort bounced off the post and Claude Grech scored from close-range.
Gzira again went close through Antonio Camilleri but four minutes from time Mdina regained the lead through James Vella as his first-kick from the penalty spot had been blocked by Ablett.
In injury-time Mdina were given a second penalty when Francalanza was kicked by Clint Mallia, the latter being shown the red card. James Vella sealed Mdina’s win as he converted from the spot.

Ta’ Xbiex-Qrendi 11-1
There was simply no match between the two teams as Qrendi ridiculed Ta’ Xbiex as they obtained an incredible……..win, the biggest scoreline of the season.
Qrendi took the lead after five minutes through Antoine Galea with Cameron Guzman making it 2-0 in the 10th minute.
Tano Farrugia added a third goal three minutes later and then they scored three quick goals in a three-minute spell through Kurt Grima, Antoine Galea and Saviour Vella.
Just before the break the scoreline increased to 9-0 throughTano Farrugia, Kurt Grima and Saviour Sacco.
After the change of ends Qrendi reduced the pressure although they made it 10-0 in the 51st minute through Richard Galea.
Ta’ Xbiex reduced the arrears through Daniel Tonna on 77 minutes with Qrendi making it 11-1 three minutes from time through Joe Mercieca.
