It was almost inevitable that the BOV Player of the Month for February would go to the Valletta and Malta player Gilbert Agius, a name well-steeped in the annals of the City and of our National teams.

Although in the veteran stage, the Valletta forward is still displaying qualities of youthful exuberance coupled with exquisite touches of experience when netting excellent goals and laying inviting balls for his colleagues to score.

His gem against Austria when he hit on the full volley to score Malta’s goal and his remarkable brace against Birkirkara four days later capped a great month for this evergreen player.

Gilbert Agius has definitely propelled his team’s collective qualities to very satisfactory levels this season.
