As the tranquil and quiet Gozitan village of Gharb prepares to host the first Seher il-Punent Culture Festival to be held over this weekend, the popular Spiteri Lucas Band has confirmed its participation.
Organised by the Gharb Local Council in collaboration with the Ministry for Gozo, this live concert is being held tomorrow (the eve of a public holiday), the closing night of the festival.
The village square will be the venue for this concert which starts at 8.30pm. It will feature some of Malta’s top performers and will be presented by popular TV presenters Karl, Romina and Ryan of KolloxSibt fame.
The Spiteri Lucas Band, under the direction of well-known singer and musician, Mark Spiteri Lucas, is undoubtedly one of the most prominent and active show bands at the moment. The present line-up of this band includes Mark’s brothers Ivan (saxophone and lead singer) and Kurt (Keyboards), Joe M. Vella (bass) and Jes Baldacchino (drums).
The band will accompany popular singers Charlene and Natasha Grima, J. Anvil, Aldo Busuttil as well as Fabrizio Faniello, who will perform some of their many well-known hits. Throughout the evening, there will also be acts from Keith and Adonelle Dance Company, comedian Augusto Cardinali and also live performances by popular teenage idol Klinsmann and his band, Kevin Borg and Gozitan singer Pamela Bezzina. The evening will come to an end with a live performance by Malta’s representative in the forthcoming Eurovision Song Festival, Olivia Lewis.
