Waslet is-Siegha is the name of the Passion pageant being produced this year by the community members of the church of the Resurrection of Christ in Tarxien, also known as the Knisja ta’ l-Erwieh, led by Fr Jesmond Manicaro (Archbishop’s Delegate for Liturgical Celebrations).

This church, which covers a large zone within the Tarxien parish and is situated next to the Tarxien neolithic temples, has been preparing for this much-awaited activity since last summer. A steady stream of volunteers gave a hand in costume design and fittings, replica props production, woodwork and metalwork, audio and video recording as well as photography.

The production team has set the ball rolling with a young cast including Andreas Grech as Jesus Christ, Claudio Laferla as Satan, Jonathan Debattista as Judas Iscariot, Claire Azzopardi as the Virgin Mary and Stephanie Vella as the Samaritan Woman.

The performances will be held on Thursday 22 and Friday 23 March at 7:30pm. Entrance is free of charge.
