Hibernians striker Andrew Cohen may miss next Saturday's European Championship clash against Moldova in Chisinau.
Sources close to the national team squad said Cohen was injured during Saturday's Premier League clash against Sliema Wanderers which the Paolites lost 2-1.
Coach Dusan Fitzel will be naming his squad for the trip to Moldova today when he will be addressing a news conference at Ta' Qali.
Also missing this match will be Terence Scerri, also of Hibernians. Although missing the last matches through suspension, he is also reported to be injured and is not expected to be included in the squad.
If Cohen is deemed unfit to travel to Moldova - he is expected to undergo some fitness tests tomorrow - then Coventry striker Michael Mifsud is sure to be partnered by Ivan Woods if Fitzel opts to play with two strikers.
Two other players who are expected to be excluded through injury are defenders Steve Wellman of Marsaxlokk and Ian Ciantar of Sliema Wanderers.
During today's news conference, Under 21 coach Mark Miller is also expected to name his squad for a match against Moldova on Friday, also in Chisinau.
