Freedom Day on 31 March will be marked by the laying of wreaths at the Freedom Monument in Vittoriosa by the President and the Prime Minister.
There will also be a harbour regatta in Grand Harbour in the afternoon.
According to the programme drawn up by the National Festivities Committee, the Armed Forces of Malta Band and Guard of Honour will form in Gavin Gulia Square, Cospicua, at 9.30am, with a march starting at 9.35, passing along the Strand in Cospicua, St Theresa and St Lawrence Streets and on to Vittoriosa to the Freedom Monument.
The AFM commander will arrive at 9.48am, the Prime Minister at 9.51, and the President at 9.55. The President will inspect the guard of honour and the President and the Prime Minister will lay wreaths at the Freedom Monument.
The regatta will start at 2pm for various categories of seacraft. Tourism and Culture Minister Francis Zammit Dimech will present the shield to the club winning the most points.
