Mellieha-Melita 3-2
This is an important win for Mellieha who have now overtaken Rabat Ajax to move into the runners-up position behind leaders Dingli Swallows.
The first half was a balanced affair with Melita taking the lead in the 18th minute with the Melita keeper Karl Zahra failing to hold on to a cross by Wayne Buttigieg and Ibrahim Tarik was on hand to shoot in from close-range.
In the 24th minute an indecision by the Melita defence led to Tarik's second goal with Melita pulling a goal back six minutes later through Matthew Borg I from a Mark Hyzler cross.
Melita continued to push forward with Matthew Borg I going close on two occasions and in the 45th minute Steve Bonnici failed to connect from a Michael Martin free-kick.
Seven minutes after the restart Mellieha made it 3-1 with Borg StJohn proving an inch perfect through-pass for David Fenech to beat Vella with a low shot. Melita responded through Matthew Borg I whose shot just missed the target but the same player managed to reduce the gap in the 80th minute with a strong header.
Melita increased the pressure but they were held out by a determined Mellieha defence.

Dingli-Gudja 5-0
Gudja United managed to withstand Dingli's pressure for 45 minutes but they were completely outclassed by the leaders after the break with Dingli scoring five goals in the process.
Dingli Swallows dictated the run of play for long stretches and early on were denied by the Gudja goalkeeper off attempts by Jeremy Agius and Etienne Farrugia.
Then Chris Ciappara wasted two easy opportunities and in the 32nd minute Etienne Farrugia crossed for Chris Ciappara whose point blank shot was blocked by Xerxen.
Just before the change of ends Chris Ciappara and Jeremy Agius squandered two further opportunities.
The Swallows completely dominated the second period and after nine minutes a Jeffrey Zammit free-kick was finished off by Jason Cachia to give Dingli a deserved lead.
Alex Portelli headed in Dingli's second goal on the hour and in the 63rd minute they gained a penalty for a foul by Clayton Micallef on Jeremy Agius and Chris Ciappara converted from the spot to make it 3-0. Gudja could have scored a consolation goal but an Elvin Gauci penalty was well saved by Farrugia.
Dingli's substitute Jonathan Sapiano scored a fourth goal in the 76th minute and three minutes from time they further increased the margin through Etienne Farrugia.

Zebbug-St Venera L 0-3
This was a fine performance by StVenera who obtained a deserved win against against Zebbug Rangers, the latter continuing to drop points as they continue to occupy a dangerous relegation position.
StVenera Lightnings played the better football throughout the first half and in the 3rd minute they broke the deadlock with Mark Grech crossng from the right flank for Dylan Mercieca to head home.
In the 17th minute StVenera's custodian Sandro Rapinett brought off a fine save to deny Josef Felice and nine minutes later a Gordon Mallia free-kick just missed the crossbar.
On 35 minutes Mercieca weaved his way past various players and passed for Luke Stivala who shot high over the bar when all alone infront of goal. Eight minutes before the break StVenera hit the crossbar through Dylan Mercieca and Mark Grech was on hand to beat Galea from close-range.
St Venera increased their lead in the 61st minute through Mark Grech following a square pass by Clayton Garzia and on another occasion they wasted an easy opportunity through Stephen Said. Four minutes from time an Andrew Hili goal was disallowed.

StAndrews-Gozo 1-1
This result leaves everything unchanged at the lower end of the league table in a match which was balanced throughout the ninety minutes.
The Saints had a good first half and in the 10th minute the Saints were close through a low shot by Robert Fenech which was saved by Xuereb with dfficulty.
Then an effort by Patrick Briscoe White went inches wide of the far post with the Gozitans responding through a dangerous Mark Formosa free-kick. In the 30th minute the Saints had another good opportunity through Patrick Briscoe White whose shot was saved by Xuereb.
Just before the end of the first half the Gozitans went close through Leonard Camilleri with the Saints responding in the 55th minute through Jonathan Briscoe who hit wide when all alone infront of goal.
They paid heavily for this error as three minutes later Gozo broke the deadlock through Errol Grima.
At the other end StAndrews created dangerous opportunities through Michael Calleja and Jeremy Gatt Coleiro but they managed to equalise in the 77th minute through a lob by Jonathan Briscoe White.
Five minutes from time the Gozitans ended up with ten players when Jason Portelli was sent off for a second caution.
