Agreement On nursing aides

Malta Independent Thursday, 22 March 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

The General Workers’ Union has reached an agreement with the Health Division and the Office of the Prime Minister which allows nursing aides to sign in at work rather than use the punch-clock, the GWU said in a statement.

The issue arose on 28 February, on the eve of the implementation of an agreement between the GWU and the division. On that day, the division had withdrawn from an agreement that had been reached earlier between the two sides.

The withdrawal forced the GWU to order industrial action. After meetings with the division and the OPM, an agreement was reached and the industrial action orders were withdrawn.
