William Chetcuti failed to reach the final of the Double Trap World Cup competition being held in Santo Domingo, South America, this week.
In the three rounds before the final, Chetcuti registered scores of 43, 46 and 44 for a total of 133. Unconfirmed reports said the six finalists all managed scores above 140.
Shooters from Santo Domingo dominated the double trap events. The team won the gold, while the individual gold medal was won by Elvin Rodgers with a total of 164. Second was Guatemala’s Fernando Brol who obtained a score of 160, while third was Patrick Martinez of Puerto Rico with a score of 154.
On Saturday, it will be the turn of Maltese-Australian Jeff Tonna to represent the country in the Trap competition. It will be the first time that he will be representing Malta at such an international level.
