We would like to express our gratitude to all those who helped our family following the terrible ordeal of the explosion of the bomb placed at the doorstep of our residence in Mosta in the early morning on Wednesday 21 February, which could have had worse repercussions.
Material support and messages of solidarity and support flowed from everywhere (including countries as far as Canada and Australia) and for this we would like to publicly thank everyone. In particular we feel we have to publicly thank Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi, the Deputy Prime Minister Tonio Borg, parliamentary secretary Tonio Fenech, Minister Ninu Zammit and many other members of Parliament of both sides of the House who paid us a visit or phoned us expressing solidarity for their support throughout this ordeal. We have also to thank the Police, CID, Bomb Disposal Unit, the medical support team and all those who were there on site.
We must not forget our innumerable circle of family members, neighbours, friends, work colleagues, ex-work colleagues, Mission Fund, Mosta Archpriest and Mosta ex-mayor, the Malta Institute of Taxation, the Malta Institute of Accountants, PTAs of St Paul’s Missionary College and the Seminary who all rallied to our support in the moment we needed them most! We cannot end our thanks without commending the dedicated workers of the Works Department (various sections) who contributed immensely in getting our residence in some order with the least possible delay.
To the perpetrators of this attack: As true Christians we do not harbour any feelings of revenge or vendetta. Our Christian upbringing inspires us not only to forgive you for such a horrific act but we have to include you in our daily prayers! No bomb can take away the peace, tranquillity and serenity which God gives us in our daily lives. The support we received from one and all has worked wonders and has made us stronger than the devastation you planted on our doorstep. Life goes on...
