Hatem Dowidar has been appointed CEO – Partner Markets with effect from 1 June, Vodafone said yesterday. Mr Dowidar will continue in his role as CEO of Vodafone Malta until his successor is announced.

As CEO Partner Markets, Mr Dowidar will be based in Vodafone Group plc’s head office in Newbury. The new CEO for Vodafone Malta will be announced in the coming weeks.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in Malta. I have met some great people and am really proud to be part of this team,” said Mr Dowidar. “I am very proud of Vodafone Malta’s achievements during the past two years. We were the first local mobile operator to launch 3G services and very soon we will be the first mobile operator to launch Broadband Wireless Access services.”
