Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Minister Tonio Borg has discussed a new extradition treaty with Australia with his
federal counterpart in Canberra, Justice Minister Senator David Johnston. According to the Department of Information, the treaty will better reflect today’s needs.
Dr Borg also met Foreign Minister Alexander Downer and discussed the immigration problem the two countries faced. Another meeting was with the president of the senate, Paul Calvert, who will be leading a Senate delegation to Malta next month.
